Case Study: Strong Program Management Governance Puts Rail Company on Track For Success

A major UK rail infrastructure company initiated a transformation program for the digitization of key processes and to provide staff with mobile access to data. The scale of the program and the number of complex interdependencies between projects was a challenge for the company’s risk and governance framework. North Highland was asked to mobilize a team of specialists to implement its Program Management Office delivery methodology. When the client saw the value that North Highland added to the program, they requested that we extend our support into a multi-year managed service.  Since then we have managed a partial handover of the service to some of the client’s permanent staff, that we helped to recruit, helping to build long term sustainable capability.

The program’s governance recently received a very positive review undertaken by an independent third party on behalf of the industry regulator, confirming the good practice North Highland has implemented.
